Latest try looks amazing, but I’m still impressed with the first go! The thought and effort behind the boxes should put any fears of imperfection away… this is an awesome idea. Lucky guests!!!

hyzenthlay: But the tape won’t help if the wood is not sealed first. The unfinished wood asborbs the water-based paint causing the bleeding effect under the tape.

Perhaps it’s just the edges of the paint that are throwing you off? You could try putting down a strip of tape to make a clean edge . . .

They look pretty decent, but I think the whole box should be painted–and that would blend those crooked outer lines (which is what is really showing up in the pic, the painting inside is quite good)....
